Lela Liyu  was born from a simple love — the love of cotton, craftsmanship, and creativity.

Founded three years ago in Ethiopia, we set out to share the richness of Ethiopian tradition, resources, and artistry with the world. Our name, “Lela Liyu,”means “specially unique”in Amharic — a reflection of what we create: new, unseen, and truly unique designs that blend heritage with innovation.

At Lela Liyu, we believe in the power of people and purpose.

Our team is made up mostly of talented women and mothers— from spinning the cotton to weaving and sewing the final piece. We are proud to provide a creative and empowering workspace, where each woman can grow, express her artistry, and take pride in her craft. Through training, fair trade practices, and a culture of creativity, we work together to build something meaningful — both for our community and for the world.
